Why We Work for Progressive Taxation
As progressive American Jews, we envision a just and equitable society that provides flexible pathways to self-sufficiency and self-actualization, supported by a community dedicated to the health, well-being, and success of all its inhabitants. We envision a California that continually enacts the values of B’tzelem Elohim (Dignity and Equality for All), Yad B’Yad (Partnership), and Shefa (Abundance).
To achieve this vision, we work within our local Jewish community, as well as in partnership with our broader community. Our campaign acts as a connector and a convener: educating, energizing, agitating. We focus on a strategic use of our resources to organize within the Bend the Arc base and in partnership with other organizations. We activate our best individual selves, personally and spiritually, in order to promote the common good of the community around us.
Bend the Arc is working on the Make It Fair campaign to reform Proposition 13 which currently allows corporations to benefit from tax loopholes while our communities suffer. In just 3 minutes, Robert Reich breaks down why it is time for California to close corporate property tax loopholes and invest in our schools and communities.
